The origins

Today we will talk about the origins of this idea, which suddenly became a project .... The Agritrullismo of the Imperials.

All started with the passion for the trulli, restoring them and the love for our homeland. One day we decided to restore the trullo, that was in a state of decay. 

At that time we only took care of the soil, collecting olives, almonds, walnuts and all the fruit available.

Olives have always been brought to the oil mill nearby, to produce a tasty and genuine olive oil.

We wanted to create a farm holiday (in Italian agriturismo), but a bit different, an agriturismo with trulli ...yes!..... an AGRITRULLISMO !!!

At that point the agritrullismo of the Imperials was born, but why "of the Imperials?

This name was born because a will of linking this location to some history, in particular to the city of Francavilla Fontana known as the town of the Imperials, honoring the Imperial princes  who brought the town to the maximum power. In fact, it became an important artisan, cultural, agricultural, industrial center and in 2009 the Puglia Region awarded it with the title of City of Art.
It is worth to mention the Imperial Castle which takes its name from the last feudal lords; it was built by Giovanni Antonio Orsini del Balzo in 1450.

The agritrullismo of the Imperials is not only a place where to stay, relax in the nature, make a BBQ or just lay down at night to admire the sky full of stars; it is also a place where you can taste products of our land and take home to share with friends some of our own production, choosing between olive oil, various jams, nuts and almonds and many other local products.
